YESAB is an independent arms-length entity, responsible for implementation
of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act (YESAA)
legislation and regulations. Specifically, its role is to administer
the YESAA assessment regime.
Six members of the Board were appointed in June 2004, and then a seventh member in July 2005, under the auspices
of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act
(YESAA).
The Board is comprised of seven Board
Members. Two of the Board Members, and the Chair of the Board,
form the Executive Committee,
which has a number of special responsibilities under the Act.
