The federal government, together with the Yukon government and the Council of Yukon First Nations, conducted extensive
public consultations on a draft of the YESAA regulations,
which were reviewed by many groups. During that consultation
and review period, issues and concerns were raised regarding some
aspects of the regulations.
The
federal government, in consultation with the territorial government
and the Council of Yukon First Nations, has reviewed and, where
possible, has addressed those issues and concerns.
The YESAA Assessable Activities, Exceptions and Executive Committee Projects Regulations and the Decision Body Time Periods and Consultation Regulations have now gone through the federal regulatory
process, have been finalized and are in full force. These regulations were published in the Canada Gazette on December 14th, 2005.
