  • Sector-specific Forms and Proponent Guides

Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB) is developing sector-specific forms for placer mining , quartz exploration, forestry, and land disposition project proposals. The sector-specific forms will be in addiiton to the Form 1, which is a generic project proposal form that will still be available when submitting a project for an evaluation under the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act (YESAA) that doesn't fall within the specific sectors..

The purpose of this initiative is to develop sector-specific forms and proponent guides that will increase the efficiency of the YESAA process. YESAB welcomes public participation as it assists us in ensuring an effective assessment process.

Throughout the winter of 2011/12 YESAB received public comments regarding the draft sector specific forms and proponent guides. The dates for each comment period were as follows:

• Placer Mining - Public Comment Period Ended Nov. 16, 2011
• Quartz Exploration - Public Comment Period Ended Dec. 14, 2011
• Forestry - Public Comment Period Ended Dec. 16, 2011
• Land Dispositions - Public Comment Period Ended Jan. 4, 2012

The next steps are to finalize the sector-specific forms and make them availale for use.
